Zamfara govt pledges special consideration for women, children

Dr. Nafisa Muhammad Maradun, Zamfara State's Commissioner for Women, Children, and Social Development Affairs, has delivered a poignant message to women in the state, urging them to play an essential role in guiding their children away from the influence of criminal groups by providing them with nurturing and respectable upbringing.

The Commissioner stressed that mothers possess the capability to mold the future of their offspring and that the manner in which children are raised profoundly impacts their life trajectories. She emphasized the significance of instilling discipline as a means of corrective guidance in children's upbringing, thereby cultivating their character and values.

Highlighting the government's recognition of women's pivotal role in nation-building, Dr. Maradun assured the women that the state government is committed to prioritizing the welfare and development of both women and children. She acknowledged the ongoing socioeconomic challenges and expressed the government's intent to offer targeted support to alleviate the difficulties faced by these vulnerable segments of the population.

Speaking during a weekly preaching session for women at the ministry in Gusau, Dr. Maradun reaffirmed the government's dedication to ensuring that women and children can actively participate in and benefit from the democratic process. She underscored the importance of not just paying lip service, but of implementing concrete measures to empower women and secure the futures of the younger generation.

The Commissioner's call to action emphasizes the indispensable role women play in nurturing the next generation and shaping the country's future. Her message highlights the government's commitment to creating an environment where women and children can thrive, and where the dividends of democracy are truly accessible to all segments of society.
